The Workshop will cover: basic martial techniques and how to fake it, the nature of real fighting, a classification scheme for violent encounters, and how to make fight choreography match the intensity level required for the storyline.
Mike Panian has been teaching martial arts for over 40 years. As a wrestling coach, karate teacher, and sword fighting instructor he has been watching people learn and grow through the martial arts for most of his adult life. He is the owner/instructor of Swordfighters School of Martial Arts and Self Defence as well as Martial Energy Works, an organization dedicated to supporting human growth and personal development through the martial arts. His martial arts background led him to stage fighting instruction and choreography. Mike’s approach to stage fighting is based on realistic martial technique coupled with a sense of the psychological dilemmas of a real fight and the intensity that ensues.
